The Blues posted their first win under Frank Gray against Welling at their Park View Road ground. Second half strikes by triallist, John Turner and Jamie Slabber secured victory after sub, Che Studhart had given the Wings the lead in the opening half. Turner, who netted 10 goals in 85 games for Cambridge before moving to Rushden where he scored one goal, linked well with Slabber. Also, 17year old Tom Cruise, caught the eye in a relatively comfortable win.
