AFC Hornchurch 3 Grays Athletic 0 (ESC S/F)
Tue, January 30, 2007. Kick off: 7:45 PM
Grays crashed out of the Essex Senior Cup in disappointing fashion against a Hornchurch side who were much the better team and thoroughly deserved their victory. Fielding a youthful side which contained several players looking for a chance to progress into the first team, Justin Edinburgh must have been far from impressed by the Blues poor showing.
Hornchurch took the lead late in the first half through Ron Fletcher, heading home a Mark Janney corner and although Matt Bodkin hit a post, two second half goals from Kris Lee and Simon Parker completed a miserable night for the visitors. Perhaps all that can be gleaned from this performance is that Justin now has a clearer idea of which players really want to play for the Blues.
