 A great performance from the players last night getting their first win in the Pontin‘s Combination Reserves League against Northampton Town, the youngsters in the squad played really well and showed what they are capable of.
Simon Downer had a good 45+ minutes but I feel that he needs a little more time before being in contention for the squad, he will get another run out on Tuesday afternoon when we travel to Southend for the reserves fixture, trialist Keiron Murtagh had an impressive debut and was also on the scoresheet, we will have another look at him at Southend.
Donny Barnard suffered a slight groin strain during the match and is doubtful for Saturdays game against Stafford Rangers, Dennis Oli suffered a tight Hamstring following the Oxford game and will be assessed tomorrow morning as to his fitness.
The lads are looking forward to the Stafford game and following their display against Oxford I feel we have turned a corner and can push forward from here.
