Blue Square Player Of The Month - February
March 04, 2008
Aldershot Town forward Kirk Hudson has been voted by fans as the Blue Square Premier “Player of the Month” for February. The former Celtic youth player scored five goals during the month as The Shots continued their assault on the three major non-league prizes. Hudson found the net in the Setanta Shield and FA Trophy as well as two goals in the 3-1 win over Farsley Celtic that saw his team hold their position at the top of the Blue Square Premier table.
The award in the Blue Square North goes to Nick Wright of Tamworth. Wright found the net in the FA Trophy victory over Blue Square Premier Stafford Rangers, which was the beginning of a fantastic period for the striker. The former Birmingham City trainee then went on to break a club record by scoring back-to-back hat-tricks in the Blue Square North games away at Vauxhall Motors and at home to Hucknall.
Bishop‘s Stortford‘s Loui Fazakerley wins the Blue Square South award after a month in which his form kept The Blues on the promotion play-off trail. Fazakerley, who started his career at Fulham, scored twice from midfield in the games against Bognor Regis and Weston Super Mare. He also contributed a number of vital assists during the period.
