Following the meeting of Thurrock Council last night (Wednesday 6th August) it has been suggested that a New Ground for Grays Athletic FC is a non event.
For the record, this is the view of one or two Councillors.
With any new redevelopment you are always going to have those who look at the negatives.
These are individuals who are obviously against change and more importantly against improving the sports/recreation facilities for YOU the residence of Thurrock.
I would like to state that the majority of Council Members have indicated support for this relocation and from my contact with Council Officer Newman (Corporate Director: Sustainable Communities) the go ahead has been given for a feasibility study and a programme of work to make the new stadium a reality.
Grays Athletic FC has become the envy of many and has brought much needed revenue to the businesses of Thurrock as well as recognition to the area for it‘s success on the field.
You can rest assured that I will continue to fight for a new home for GAFC and I will not let the single minded minority stop me.
