On the 23rd June 2007 fire-fighters at Grays fire station are organising a charity race night for the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund and Essex Air Ambulance.

To this end we are contacting local organisations to see whether they would be interested in sponsoring a race on the night.

The cost of sponsorship is £30 and this entitles the sponsor to name the race. This will then be put into the race programme.

If you do not wish to sponsor a race, we will also be holding a raffle during the evening and are looking for prizes to be donated.

The Grays Athletic Youth teams will be hosting a football tournament involving all the age groups over the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April, each day will host different age groups

There will be entertainment in the bar provided by Premier Roadshow following the game

GAFC u 18‘s - AWARDS 2006/07
Congratulations to the under 18‘s who are managed by Tony Gay and Rob Mann.
The team have secured the top spot in the South West Division of the Eastern Junior Alliance League and will now go forward to the Play Off‘s to establish an over all league champion.

The presentation evening after tomorrow‘s game against Crawley will have a Special Guest of Honour.

Last years Supporters Player of the Year Aaron McLean will be attending this function following his radio commentary of the Peterborough game.

The Annual FPD Southend Football Memorabilia and Programme Fair will be held at The New Shrimpers Club, Southend United FC on Sunday 29th April 2007.

Light refreshments and Bar facilities available, Admission 50p, includes a free draw for a new F.P.D. member.

The Premiere Programme Fair, which has the biggest and best range of football programmes and memorabilia will take place on June 2nd 2007 at Hotel Russell, Russell Square, Central London 11:00 - 16:00

Anyone who has sponsored a shirt this season for any of the players that are no longer with Grays Athletic can collect their signed shirt from the Club following the Crawley Town game on Saturday 21st April

The Grays Athletic U18 squad will have their presentation in the clubhouse prior to the senior squad on Saturday 21st April, there will also be raffles throughout the evening with all the proceeds going to U18 player, Jimmy Cox, who is currently undergoing surgery on a broken leg which occured during training.

If anyone has any prizes that they would like to donate for these raffles please let the club know.

Saturday 21st April following the home fixture against Crawley Town there will be a Presentation Night.

After the game why not stay and enjoy a night in the club.

Whilst on holiday it has been bought to my attention that Stuart Thurgood has been the victim of some scathing remarks from some of supporters of Grays Athletic, I am personally disgusted with the comments that have been vented towards him.

Stuart is one of those players whose heart is with this team unlike others who deserted the club at the end of last season; in fact Stuart is due to sign a 2 year extension of his contract at the end of the season, which already has a year left to run.

Stuart is committed to Grays Athletic; he has only recently returned to the game following a serious injury and gives 100% when out on the field.

I know that the season has not gone the way we would have liked it and people are frustrated but to vent your anger against one of the stalwarts of this club is beyond belief.

If this abuse continues and Stuart or indeed any other player feels that they can no longer stay with Grays Athletic I can personally ensure you all that this will have dire consequences on this club.

Grays Athletic Football Club wishes to send their condolences to the family of former Player and Manager, Roy Baker, who sadly passed away on Thursday 29th March 2007

The Funeral service will be held at 10:15 on Tuesday 10th April 2007 at St Johns Church, Tilbury then onto Chadwell Cemetery at 11:00.
