The prices for the pre-season fixture against Tottenham Hotspur XI on Tuesday 7th August have been set at:

Grays Athletic are looking for a mature responsible person to become kit manager for the 2007/08 season, this may suit a retired person, they will be responsible for the preparation the players kit on a match day and will involve some overnight stopovers with the team on distance fixtures, this is a part-time position and payments will be based on fixtures attended.

We are also takings bookings for matchday mascots for the new season, the package costs £95 and includes full replica kit, entry for mascot and two adults, signed programme, photograph with the Manager or favourite player and Officials, pre-match kick-about on the pitch before leading the team out. if you are interested in this package please call the Main Office on 01375 377753.

The fixture between Torquay United and Grays Athletic will be the opening game for the new Blue Square Premier television sponsors Setanta, this fixture will now be played on Sunday 12th August, kick-off 19:30.
This will be great opportunity for both teams to showcase the new league in front of many viewers, the club bar will be screening the live game and also the majority of the Setanta fixtures, a full fixture list will be drawn up soon

The Pre-Season fixture against Leyton Orient on Saturday 4th August will see a voucher system in place, these vouchers will allow one child (under 12) entrance for £1 with a full paying adult.

Grays Athletic have entered the Pontin‘s Holiday Combination League (Eastern Division) for their reserve matches, all home games will be played at The New Recreation Ground at 19:00, prices for these games have not been issued as yet, once these are known they will be publicised on this web site, Season Ticket holders will have free entry to these matches.

Grays Athletic have signed 5ft 9in, Midfielder, Ernie Cooksey who is a versatile Midfield player who can play across the pitch but prefers the left hand side, he has a very high work rate and has a knack of scoring goals from midfield.
Ernie started out at Crawley Town from 2002-03 before spending a year at Oldham Athletic from there he spent the next 3 years at Rochdale before joining Boston United in January 2007.

The pre-season fixture with AFC Hornchurch that was scheduled for Tuesday 17th July has been cancelled, after we had agreed to host this match as AFC Hornchurch‘s pitch was not ready we feel bitterly disappointed to find out that they are now playing West Ham at their ground on Tuesday, we appreciate that the revenue they will gain from that match will probably outweigh the fixture against us but it is still disappointing to have this fixture removed from our schedule.

We are currently looking for another fixture we can arrange for that evening.

Anyone who is volunteering to assist in the pre-season clear up of The New Recreation Ground needs to be there between 08:30 - 09:30 tomorrow, work will take place between 08:30 and 12:00, all persons who are in attendance by 09:30 will be entitled to food and drink.

All players and Management will be at the ground from 13:00 for all those who wish to meet them.

Grays Athletic have signed Forward, Ben Watson from Bognor Regis FC on a 2 year contract, Ben joined The Rocks from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2004, he was top goal scorer with 23 goals during 2005/06.

Ben also represented England in the National XI squad for the 2006 Four Nations Tournament

Ex Blue, Freddy Eastwood has today signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be part of the travelling squad that will be playing Grays Athletic on Saturday 14th July in a pre-season friendly.

The game will see the return of both Freddy Eastwood & Michael Kightly to the New Recreation Ground.
