As you may be aware The Conference‘s Chief Executive, John Moules, has left his position with immediate effect.

Grays Athletic Chairman, Mick Woodward, and the Board of Directors would like to thank John for all the assistance he has given the club since we joined The Conference, John was always available and took time out to help us.

We would like to wish John all the best for the future and he will always be welcome at The New Recreation Ground.

Grays Athletic have signed Gavin Grant on a loan for the remainder of the 2007/08 season, Gavin had already spent some time on loan with the club last season before personal issues forced the cessation of the loan period.

Gavin started his career with Tooting & Mitchum, he has also had a spell at Gillingham before signing for Millwall

Grays Athletic have also signed Ex Leyton Orient Defender Donny Barnard until January 2008 with the option to extend, Donny started as a Trainee for the O‘s in 2001 and has featured in over 90 league games for them

Grays Athletic have appointed ex Crawley Town 1st Team Coach, John Yems, as their new Chief Scout, John joined the backroom staff at Crawley in 2006, and following the departure of John Hollins in October, along with defenders Ben Judge and David Woozley had been in charge of 1st team affairs at the Broadfield Stadium, the trio led Crawley out of the drop zone, and secured safety with a point on the final day of the season against Kidderminster Harriers.

Setanta Sports will kick off their Blue Square Premier televised campaign with our visit to Torquay on Sunday 12th August, kick-off 19:30.

The game can been seen on Setanta Sports 1 and will be great opportunity for both teams to showcase the new league in front of many viewers, for those who are unable to attend the fixture and have not subscribed to Setanta, the club bar will be screening the live game from 19:00, they will also be showing the Setanta fixtures throughout the season so there is no excuse to miss a match

Kevin Prince-Boateng will make his debut in tonight‘s (August 7) pre-season friendly against Spurs XI

The midfielder snapped up from Hertha Berlin last week is part of a strong Spurs XI line-up facing Spur Justin Edinburgh‘s Grays Athletic
