In an exclusive interview for the club website, fans favourite Joao Carlos answers questions about his time at the club

You've made over 200 appearances for the club. You must be very proud of that achievement?

Very proud of this achievement, played with some great players but better yet I've grown with the club and hope to continue this

What's been your highlight during your time with the club?

Has to be when we got promoted to the Ryman Premier, we went on a unbelievable unbeaten run to catch up the leaders to then win the league has to be a big highlight for me

And what has been your least favourite moment?

My least favourite moment will always be when I don't score or Assist in a game

What do you think it is that Mark Bentley brings to the club?

The Gaffa brings huge professionalism to the club, but best of all he makes players confident and brings togetherness into the club

Benno has said in recent interviews that alongside Glen Little and David Raven they are implementing a more professional approach. How would you say this is being achieved?

Yes absolutely I really like the way the staff handle players, truth always told, interaction but most importantly the information given to us players, group and individual to beat our opponents

Who is the best player you have played alongside?

This is a hard one but keeping It Grays Related I would have to say the left backs that I played with, it's a left wing, left back relationship

Who would you say is the most professional player in the squad?

that would have to be the Skipper Kenny Beaney, How he Plays in games is how he is at training but he does moan a lot

Who is the joker in the pack?

Has to be Cronin, he never fails to make me laugh. New boy tommy would have to be up there but Cronin just takes it

Mark has bought a lot of younger players into the squad this season, would you say this has rejuvenated the squad?

Yes this brought some energy into the squad, it's a very balanced squad now which we needed, we have the more experienced players and the players that want to go further up in the game. The good thing is although they are young they are also fighters and will battle for you on the pitch as we witnessed so far this season.

You've been voted both player of the year and golden boot winner by the fans during your time at Grays. Are you looking to build on those successes this season?

Im always looking grow my success but it's looking like I'm going to have a hard time getting that golden boot back with DD and Bradley scoring every game

What teams do you think our supporters should look out for this season?

I honestly don't look too much into other teams as I am very focused on our squad but I would say Tonbridge, so far they look to be a team to look out for

What's your goal this season?

With the squad and the close relationship we have with each other promotion is the only thing I have in mind

You are a supporters favourite and many say a Grays legend! Is there anything you'd like to say to our fantastic supporters?

Im just so glad they have my back and they supported me all the years since Ive been at the club, I will continue to give my effort on the pitch to please the supporters as they put effort into supporting me

Thanks Carlos
