Grays Athletic v Billericay Town

Aveley FC, Mill Road, Aveley

As they say in boxing, "the O must go". That might not be strictly true in football but this Saturday does see the meeting of two unbeaten Essex non league heavyweights. Grays Athletic welcome neighbours Billericay Town to Mill Field on Saturday as they look to consolidate their solid early season start.
The Grays Blues currently sit in fourth place with the same amount of points as leaders Dulwich Hamlet. The Billericay Blues are just behind in eighth position with a win against Enfield following draws against East Thurrock and Needham Market.
Grays opened the season with a 1-1 draw against Hendon and followed this up with back to back wins against Tonbridge Angels and newly promoted Burgess Hill Town.

Matches between the sides in the past have favoured Billericay with 15 wins, 3 draws and 9 Grays wins. On the positive side though, Grays just slightly shade it in home games with 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. Last season goals from Dumebi Dumaka and Joao Carlos won the league fixture at Mill Field 2-0 and goals from Joel Nouble and Jay Leader gave Grays a 2-1 win in another Mill Field encounter, his time in the semi final of the league cup.

"DD", Carlos and Leader should all feature in Saturday's game and will look to repeat their goal scoring contributions from last season. Billericay's main threats could be Tom Derry and George Beavon who have 2 league goals apiece so far this season.

Get yourself over to Mill Field, Aveley FC this Saturday to see who will come out on top in the latest Battle of The Blues.
