The blues return to Ryman premier action with an away clash against Leiston FC. Match preview by Michael Parker

LEISTON V GRAYS ATHLETIC

After a weekend without a game, Jody Brown's Boys return to action with a Ryman Premier League game in Suffolk this Tuesday night. It will certainly be a tough game for The Blues with both teams in and around the chase for the play off spots with Leiston currently in 6th place with 28 points, while Grays are just two places behind with 24 points, but they have played two matches fewer than their hosts, who were in action on Saturday, defeating Bognor Regis 3-2 at home.
The teams have met just 4 times, twice in the Ryman Premier and twice in the Ryman North with Grays holding the slight upper hand by winning both the home games and drawing one away at Victory Road. Having said that, the last time the teams met in Leiston, the hosts emerged 4-1 victors with Joe Francis netting twice, something he also did last Saturday in that Bognor game so maybe he will enter the game with some confidence.
Grays themselves should enter this game in a positive frame of mind having won the last time out in the league, away to Tonbridge and also in the Essex Senior Cup, away to FC Clacton. They have scored six goals over those two games with the partnership upfront on Dumebi Dumaka and Freddie Lapado causing teams problems with their pace and power.
