Grays travel to Hartsdown Park on the Kent coast this Saturday to face the Ryman League leaders Margate in what could be a very tough match, especially if the opening home game of the season is anything to go by. In that match 'Gate secured the points with goals from Charlie Allen and Sam Rents. Since then they have continued in fine form and currently are top of the league with 50 points and 48 goals.
Since that game and a slowish start to the season with new players and management settling in, Grays themselves have started to climb the table and are currently in 9th place with games in hand on the teams in the play offs. Matches between these two sides have traditionally been exciting high scoring affairs. In the last ten meetings, the games have produced 47 goals, including 7 in the last meeting at Hartsdown Park where Grays won 5-2. This run of goals could continue as the clubs have three of the leagues top scorers. Ryan Moss currently has 13 and his Margate team mate Charlie Allen has 12 and Grays have Freddie Lapado with 11 goals. Overall there is encouragement for Grays to. In 10 meetings they have won 6, drawn 3 and lost just the once, that game earlier this season.
