The blues travel to Kent to take on the Angels in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy

Tonbridge Angels v Grays Athletic FA Trophy
By Michael Parker

Following their success in the league cup against neighbours Tilbury on Wednesday, Grays are in further cup action this Saturday (15th November) away in kent against Tonbridge Angels in the FA Trophy. It will be a familiar trip for The Blues as they traveled to Longmead as recently as last month as the sides fought out a Ryman Premier encounter. Grays took the points that day with the goals coming from Freddie Lapado and an outrageous long range toe poke from Dumebi Dumaka in a 2-1 victory.

In the last round Grays beat Hampton & Richmond 3-0 while hosts Tonbridge defeated VCD Athletic 2-0 away from home. Manager Jody Brown could have a difficult decision to make up front for Grays. Freddie Lapado and Jamie Guy are both in form and finding the net regularly but in the league match earlier in the season, the pace of Lapado and Dumebi Dumaka caused the hosts a lot of problems, so it will be interesting what the manager opts for.

Tonbridge lost last Saturday at home to Billericay but did manage to beat Sittingbourne 3-2, after being 2 goals down, in a Kent Senior Cup match. The goals come courtesy of Jack Parter, Dee Okojie and the on loan Marvin Williams who joined Angels last week from Conference South side Sutton United and was voted the fans man of the match in that game. Another player at manager Steve Mckimm's disposal is Tom Parkinson who scored against Grays earlier in the season.

Grays manager Jody Brown praised the traveling Grays support in the last game and would like as many people as possible to get behind the team again, the address is:
Longmead Stadium Darenth Avenue Kent TN10 3JF

As usual kick off is 3PM and admission is: Adults £10 Seniors (60+) £6 Youth (13-17) £4
Junior (u13) free with accompanied with an adult or £2
