A new book, written and researched by Club Historian, Chris Turner detailing our early history
from 1888 to 1916 and league tables for each season, is on sale NOW for £5.

The first paragraph in the book raises a very significant matter about the date of formation of the club. The year 1890 has in modern times been assumed as the year when Grays Athletic Football Club was founded.Chris explains about a muddling of information over the years and states that one thing is sure - the year 1890 is wrong. It’s a must-read for all our supporters!
Printing costs of the book were covered by sponsorship and Chris is also donating the proceeds of all sales to the club.

We are very grateful to Chris and the sponsors for their very generous help. £385 of pre-sales was received from seventy-seven supporters who took up the club’s invitation to pay the £5 cover price in advance, in return for being included on the “subscribers list”, printed on page one.
