Blues entertain Mildenhall Town tomorrow Saturday 22nd September 2018 at Parkside in a Bostik League North clash looking to build on last Saturday's 1-0 win against Brentwood Town - a scoreline which failed to reflect Blues' dominance over the 90 minutes. Mildenhall have endured a difficult start to the season. After five games they have yet to record a win, with draws against Maldon & Tiptree, AFC Sudbury and Witham Town and defeats to Basildon United and Barking, so they will be keen to kickstart their season with a win.
Blues have yet to record a victory over their visitors with one draw and two defeats in previous meetings. In the corresponding fixture last season the teams fought out a 2-2 draw with all the goals coming in the first half. Kieran Bishop registered a brace for Blues with goals in the 13th and 35th minute with Mildenhall replying in the 30th minute through Marco Pereira and Daniel Brown in the 36th.
This match then takes on real significance for both teams. A win for Blues - if other results go in their favour - could see them push into the play-off places, and for Mildenhall a chance to record their first win of the season, so supporters can look forward hopefully to a keenly fought contest.
Apart from Joao Carlos - serving the last of a three-match suspension - Blues should have a full squad to choose from and could see new signing Michael Toner make his debut since joining from Hertford Town earlier in the week.
