The Chats finished 21st in the Ryman Division One South last season, but were transferred to the North at the start of the season following a reshuffle of the leagues.

They currently sit second in the league on 10 points, the same as Grays. Both teams both have a goal difference of +6, however, Grays have scored more putting the Blues top.

Chatham striker, Jack Jeffery had a spell at Grays Athletic in the 2009/10 season, where he made four appearances in the Conference. Including the 5-4 loss against Rushden & Diamonds where Peter Shreeves took charge as caretaker manager. Jeffery failed to scored in his short spell at the club.
