Grays Athletic Football Club hereby gives notice to our Shareholder Members of the Board's proposal to confirm the positions of co-opted Directors Steven Stuart, Rob Seaman and Stewart Goshawk as fully elected Board members in line with our club constitution and rules.
Steven Stuart is seeking election as Commercial Director, a role he has successfully undertaken for the past two seasons which has seen the club forge new and exciting relationships and partnerships which has strengthened the club's commercial activity to unprecedented heights since becoming fan owned.
Rob Seaman is seeking election as the club's Development Director, a role he has successfully undertaken for the past two seasons ensuring the club's ability to future proof itself is at the forefront of our strategic direction. Rob has been instrumental in the delivery of the Ship Lane stadium project as well as redefining our comms and media strategy to a point where the growth of the club on social media is one of the fastest in non-league football.
Stewart Goshawk is seeking election as the club's Grants and Funding Director, a role he has successfully undertaken for the past two seasons ensuring the club is primed to acquire the necessary funding to transform the current derelict Ship Lane Stadium into a vibrant home that safeguards the club's future.
With Janet Packer making the decision to retire from her position as Club Secretary and Board of Director and David Barnes currently unable to continue in post on health grounds, the Board are taking steps to strengthen its position to ensure it can meet the demands of the club. Grays Athletic Football Club would like to place on record its sincerest thanks to both Janet and David for their significant contribution to the club over the time of their tenures and wishes David a speedy recovery.
Following Janet's departure, we are pleased to announce that our Community Academy Secretary Denise Bowers will be taking over the role of Club Secretary. Denise has been at the club for several years and has been an integral part in the development and continued success of our youth section. Denise will become an invaluable asset to the Board with her outstanding interpersonal skills and expertise in football governance.
To ensure the Board continues to be strategic and dynamic, it has also agreed to co-opt Tom Fuller as it's new Membership & Supporter Engagement Director after a hugely successful period of leading the club's new membership and ticketing initiatives. The work undertaken by Tom has allowed the club to be ahead of the curve with regards to digital ticketing and has allowed the club to be data rich.
Together with our existing elected board members, Lee Vehit, Gavin Holland, Steve Skinner and Glyn Jarvis, we believe we will have a strong elected Board to take the club forward during an exciting yet challenging period in the club's history.
Should any of our other existing Shareholder Members wish to be considered for election to the Board for the vacancies which Steven Stuart, Rob Seaman, and Stewart Goshawk have offered to fill, please advise the club via email (graysathleticfc@hotmail.co.uk) by 22nd May 2025 in order that an election may be organised.
Please ensure you have the relative skillset and expertise in the areas that Steven Stuart (Commercial) Rob Seaman (Strategic Development) and Stewart Goshawk (Funding) are seeking election for before applying as these are specific skillsets the club requires in order to maintain efficiency and consistency.
In the event that no other candidates put themselves forward, Steven, Rob and Stewart will automatically be elected on the 23rd May 2025.
