New Club Captain For The Blues

Grays Athletic are pleased to announce Midfielder Lewis Dark has signed for the club.

Lewis played for Brentford in the football league before dropping into non-league.

He joined up with Terry Spillane at Stansted and was part of the side that won the Essex Senior League in 2010 and were runners-up in the league but won the League Cup in 2011. Lewis moved to Redbridge with Spillane who retained Jody Brown on the coaching staff. A successful season at Redbridge resulted in Spillane moving to Maldon & Tiptree with his backroom staff and several players including Lewis Dark.

Supporters will remember Lewis's time at the club in 2009 and later during the 2014/15 season under the management of Jody Brown.

Speaking to the club after signing Lewis, manager Jim Cooper said:

"I am delighted that Lewis Dark will also be joining us for next seasons campaign. I first saw Lewis play a couple of years back when he was at Heybridge Swifts. It was then I decided that if I get the chance to sign him I would and so it has come to be.
He will come into the side as captain of the club and like our other signings he will add experience and leadership."

Welcome to the club Lewis
