Grays Athletic welcome Harlow Town to Mill Field this Saturday in the 1st round qualifying of the FA Cup.
Last years FA Cup run saw Ryan Kirby's blues win 2-1 against Romford in the 1st round qualifying with the goals coming from Joao Carlos and Kenny Beaney. The blues then took on Tilbury in the 2nd round in a local cup derby running out as 3-0 victors at Mill Field. Two goals from Jack West and one from Joao Carlos was enough to see off a physical Tilbury side in front of a healthy crowd of 368.
In a game that many supporters saw as a missed opportunity the blues lost to a rampant Daventry Town losing 0-4 at home in the 3rd qualifying round in an humiliating home defeat at Mill field.
Harlow Town currently sit in 2nd place in the Ryman one North divison wining 8 of their last 9 league matches.
Grays last met Harlow Town in April 2013 winning 2-1 at Barrows farm in the Ryman one Division North.
In what looks set to be a typical cup tie between two old rivals the blues will be looking to better last years 3rd round qualifying exit. A full squad is expected with the exception of Mark Bentley who could be subject to a late fitness test having taken a nasty knock against Dulwich Hamlet on Wednesday night.
The winner of Saturdays match will receive £3,000 from the FA.
