Match Report: South Woodham Ferrers Ladies 2–7 Grays Athletic Ladies

Venue: Away – South Woodham Ferrers
Date: Sunday 26th October 2025

Grays Athletic Ladies produced a brilliant display on the road, overcoming a cold day and a tricky bumpy pitch to record an emphatic 7–2 victory against South Woodham Ferrers Ladies.

Both sides fielded youthful line-ups, with Grays’ average age just 17 — but the young Blues showed maturity beyond their years once they settled into the game.

The hosts started brightly, pressing high and looking eager to claim the points, but it was Alisha who opened the scoring for Grays with a composed finish. South Woodham Ferrers managed to find an equaliser before the break, and the first half ended fairly even, with Grays not quite at their usual fluent best.

After regrouping at half-time, the message was clear — play our football and get back in control. The response was outstanding. Alisha added two more goals in the second half to complete her hat-trick, showing exactly why she’s such a constant threat up top.

Then came a flurry of stunning strikes — Sammie and Rae both finding the net in quick succession with long-range efforts that lit up the game. The confidence was flowing, and substitute Katlin joined the party, meeting a corner perfectly to score with a superb header.

There was still time for a debut goal too, as new signing Kara Mason-Wisbey capped off an impressive first outing with a calm finish to make it seven.

It was a dominant second-half performance full of energy, quality, and teamwork — proof again of the depth and promise in this exciting young Grays side.
