This Saturday, Grays Athletic take the trip across Essex to Heybridge for their latest fixture in their quest for league points.
Heybridge have been in the top half of the table most of the season and currently sit amongst the chasing pack looking for a playoff place. With ten games left, they will be keen to make the most of every opportunity to keep up the pressure on those teams above them.
Heybridge are coming out of a vicious recent run of fixtures and their latest form has been impressive with a win against Lowestoft and coming away with a point from Felixstowe & Walton. Last Saturday saw a good 3-1 win against Enfield, to keep the run going. Top scorer, Jake Adlington-Pile is also on a fine run of form, hitting the back of the net five times in his last four outings.
Grays will though take real encouragement from their past two outings which have gathered six points for the Blues and seen them ease their worries at the wrong end of the table.
Heybridge visited the Blues at Tilbury in mid-January and went away the 3-1 victors. That man Adlington-Pile bagged a brace, with the third (rather inevitably at the time) coming from Sam Bantick. A Kien Connolly penalty just before half time was the Blues only reply.
Grays will need to at their best against opposition on their own 3G surface, looking to continue their promotion push, but will themselves be looking to build on their own recent successes.
Come on you Blues !
