This Friday evening, Grays take the short trip to Brentwood Town for their third league game in seven days and the second in a row against playoff chasing opposition.
Brentwood currently sit in the final playoff berth but with five points and an extra game over their nearest chasers. Last weekend though, they were somewhat surprisingly held to a goalless draw by Witham Town. That aside, their recent form has been excellent, with seven wins in their last ten games, with only defeats to high-flying Lowestoft and Felixstowe & Walton spoiling an impressive run. Goals for Brentwood have been plentiful but shared around, with only Mekhi McKenzie topping double figures this term.
The return fixture at Tilbury was back in late November when second half goals from Freeman, Aarons Royal and Ogunleye allowed the visitors to go away with a comfortable three points.
The game takes place at The Arena, Brentwood Centre, Doddinghurst Rd, CM15 9NN.
Blues fans will want to be aware that Brentwood Town are once again running their excellent promotional offer - anyone entering the ground before 7.15pm will receive a free drinks voucher to be used at the bar or tea bar any time during the evening. A fantastic gesture.
This will undoubtedly be another challenging encounter against one of the promotion candidates.
Come on you Blues !
