Blues and Hertford lock horns again for the third time this month following their previous meeting in the FA Cup in which Hertford proved victorious.
The first encounter at Hertfordingbury Park saw Blues take an early lead through a Kieran Bishop penalty only to be pegged back late in the second period with a goal from Tommy Wade.
The replay at Parkside proved to be a feisty encounter with Blues reduced to ten men late in the game when Suley Zuhdu was dismissed following two bookable offences.Blues again took an early lead courtesy of a Perry Dunn strike ,Hertford restored parity when Tommy Wade steered the ball past Lamar Johnson.Jamie Slabber put Blues back in front only to see Charlie Edwards equalise with a 30 yard pile driver late in the second half..Extra time saw both sides probing for an opening and it was Dan Ferrigno who settled the tie in favour of Hertford . In truth Blues had numerous chances in the tie but were denied by a MOM performance from visiting keeper Charlie Mann.
Since that encounter both teams have endured a poor run of form Hertford have dawn against Bowers and Pitsea suffered a 4-0 reverse at home to Waltham Abbey and exited the FA Cup again at home to Hornchurch 2-1.Blues have not fared much better two below par defeats in the league at Barking and Bowers and Pitsea, they then exacted revenge with an excellent performance and win at Bowers and Pitsea in the Velocity Trophy, they will be looking to do the same at Hertford tomorrow.
Jamie Slabber and Perry Dunn have recovered from injury and will be available for selection ,Suley Zuhdu returns from suspension but Joao Carlos and James Folkes are yet to recover from injury.
