In Opposition
Today we look at Blues Emirates FA Cup opponents and fellow Bostik North side Hertford Town also nicknamed The Blues.Town came through the last round courtesy of a 4-1 victory over Haleigh United from the Eastern Counties Premier League with two goals from Daniel Bond, and one apiece from Jason Beck and Sam Ruff.
Hertford were promoted to the Bostik League North after finishing Runners up in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division last season .They last appeared in the Isthmian League in Division 2 in 2006 but when this division was disbanded they joined the Spartan South Midlands League .They currently lie in 15th place in the North table with five points after a mixed start to the season. A disastrous 6-0 drubbing at home to Bury Town was followed by an excellent 3-2 away win at last years title contenders Maldon and Tiptree and Bank Holiday Monday saw them sharing the points at Potters Bar Town in a 1-1 draw.
It's been fifteen years since they last ventured beyond the 1st qualifying round whereas Blues have progressed to the next round four times in the last five years.
