Blues gaffer is the sponsors' MOTM

Player-manager Mark Bentley was selected as tonight's sponsors' man-of-the-match

Tonight's match saw a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for a Blues side that looked to be suffering a hangover after Saturday's magnificent win at Met Police and went in 2-0 down at half-time.

James Steven's free-kick brought the hosts back into the game but Benno quickly replaced the goalscorer to bring a much-needed leadership to the side and a few minutes after being introduced it was the manager who levelled the scores with a cracking downward header from Jey Siva's corner.

Soon after, Beavers striker Charlie Moone and Blues 'keeper Conor Gough were dismissed: for no clear reason Moone kicked Gough who then reacted giving the referee no option but to send him off too.

After some discussion amongst the players Benno took the gloves and went in goal and within minutes his first taste of 'keeping was facing a penalty after Best-Riley's clumsy challenge on Collins. Bentley dropped to his left and saved former Blue Ben Osman's poor spot-kick with his feet and it was hacked clear of danger by Parry.

Benno was pushed for the MOTM award on the night by half-time substitue Correy Davidson but the player-manager's heroics were enough to see him awarded the trophy after the match by first team coach David Raven
