The 34-year-old central defender joined Blues in the summer of 2011 as Hakan Hayrettin set about transforming his squad.
He made his debut in the opening game of last season; a 4-0 win over Ware at Rookery Hill, whilst his last appearance was in the 3-0 defeat to Waltham Forest in the League Cup in October. In total, Cooper made 40 appearances, with just 6 of those coming this season.
On his departure, Cooper said: “This season has never really got going for me, having suffered with an injury. The other lads have done really well, and I just wanted to get a few more games.
“I’d like to thank the supporters, players and board for everything during my time at the club, with a special mention to Andy and Hak who are great guys, and I wish you all the very best.”
The paperwork went through in time on Saturday morning, and he was an unused sub in Swifts’ 3-2 defeat at Brentwood Town.
We’d like to thank Grant for his efforts, and wish him well for the future.
