Grays Walking Football Club and Grays Athletic are delighted to announce that the two organisations will be working together to increase the profile and participation of walking football in the area.

The team will now be known as Grays Athletic Walking Football Club and will continue to play in The Essex Walking Football League and other local tournaments.

Currently the squad has an age range from 50-73 and they are looking to recruit new members in order that - in future - the Walking Football Club can enter a 50+ team and a 60+ team into leagues and competitions.

The Chairman of Grays Athletic FC, Steve Skinner commented “we are really pleased to welcome the Grays Walking Football organisation into our club and are looking forward to helping them with developing the sport and expanding the number of people taking part. This alliance is another important stepping stone towards our objective of being able to offer people of all ages a platform to play football as we strive to become a true community club”
