Lewis played for Brentford in the football league before dropping into non-league which included a spell at Grays Athletic in 2009 in which he did not make any appearances for the club.
He joined up with Terry Spillane at Stansted and was part of the side that won the Essex Senior League in 2010 and were runners-up in the league but won the League Cup in 2011. Lewis moved to Redbridge with Spillane who retained Jody Brown on the coaching staff. A successful season at Redbridge resulted in Spillane moving to Maldon & Tiptree with his backroom staff and several players including Lewis Dark.
Lewis has become available following the departure of Terry Spillane from Maldon & Tiptree and Blues manager Jody Brown is happy to add the player to his squad.
"I'm pleased to have Lewis on board. I've worked with him before and I know his professionalism is what I am looking for. Given the three game suspension for Jon Glowacki and the need to manage Glenn Little and Mark Bentley's recovery between games, he adds important depth."
Brown also believes the holding midfielder could play a long term role at the club and he added "Lewis has great fitness levels and tactical discipline and at 25 years of age he could be an integral part of our future."
Dark is expected to join the squad for the Bognor Regis game at Mill Field tomorrow.
