The History:
There has been 7 meetings between the sides since 2001 and it is fair to say that Grays have enjoyed the upper hand with a record of 5 wins, a draw and a single defeat that came in a friendly match in 2003. When Grays returned to the Ryman League in 2010 the sides played out a 1-1 draw in North London and since that meeting there has been 3 consecutive wins for The Blues, including a 3-1 victory the last time the sides met at the Harry Abrahams Stadium in August 2013, the goals for Grays coming from Junior Baker and Joao Carlos.

The Form:
Wingate & Finchley have played 2 games so far this week, both at home, and have lost both, so they will be looking to improve on that against The Blues this Saturday. Those defeats come against our neighbours East Thurrock (3-4) on Saturday and Kingstonian (1-2) during midweek. Grays come into this game having had a free week due to weather calling off last Monday's league cup fixture away to Barkingside. Last Saturday however see the team lose 3-1 away to Leatherhead, which was Grays fourth away league defeat in a row. So it leaves the prospect of either Wingate & Finchley getting over their home woes, or Jody Brown's boys addressing their travel sickness.

The players to watch:
Grays could feature new signings Merrick James-Lewis in midfield and defender Luis Morrison-Derbyshire as they look to launch a double barrelled assault on the play off positions.
Wingate & Finchley defender Ahmet Rifat has an eye for goal. He scored last Tuesday against Kingstonian and in the past has scored against Grays Athletic in this fixture. Striker David Knight is another player to look out for, he has been central to the Wingate & Finchley goals for column this year having scored 16 goals to be the leagues current top scorer.
