Defender Frank Everett has been released and Troy Williams goes out on loan

The club can confirm today that defender Frank Everett has been released by mutual consent.

Midfield player Troy Williams has signed for Horsham on loan and his progress will be closely monitored by the coaching staff.

First team manager Jody Brown understands the effect that changes to personal circumstances can have on players and was disappointed to see Everett leave the club.

"It's a real shame, as Frank is an experienced, committed player that can play in a couple of positions" said Brown, "but new work commitments have made it hard for him to give what is necessary to play for the club right now. We will be looking for a replacement." he added.

Troy Williams has featured most recently for the u21s and performed well in their 2-0 win at Enfield Town last week, watched by coach David Raven.

Jody Brown believes the young midfielder has the potential to make the step up and push for a place in the first team: "I think Troy has technical qualities and could develop into a good midfield player. He's competing with some very experienced players here at Grays so it's best for his own development to get out and play competitive games at Horsham."
