This Saturday, Grays Athletic take the long trip up to Norfolk, to play Gorleston in their latest league encounter.
A note to any fans making their own way to the match - this season Gorleston are ground-sharing with nearby Great Yarmouth FC. The stadium address is:
The Wellesley
Sandown Road
Gt Yarmouth
Norfolk NR30 1EY
Gorleston have had a very satisfactory season, currently sitting in 11th in the table, with eleven wins and twelve losses so far. The past month has provided some good returns for the club, with wins against three of the lower lying teams and a valuable point against Walthamstow, as well as a win in the county cup quarter final. They did though suffer a reverse midweek, with a 1-0 loss to Brightlingsea.
The return fixture was right at the start of the season on the August bank holiday weekend. That resulted in a 2-0 win for the Green Army with goals from their two top strikers, Luke Johnson and Ryan Curtis, who between them have 25 goals this season. Grays are of course a much changed outfit since those days, with only Aron Gordon and Charlie Stimson remaining from that fixture.
With the season’s end in view, Grays are still looking for more points to move themselves up the table.
Come on you Blues !
