On Sunday afternoon, Grays Athletic travel to Bedfordshire where they face AFC Dunstable for the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.

This is the first season AFC Dunstable have entered the FA Cup, beating Eton Manor 3-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round to make it to this stage of the competition. AFC Dunstable play in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division (step 5 – a level below Isthmian Division One North), where they sit in fifth place after five games. Last season they played in the Spartan South Midlands Division One and finished second, earning promotion.

Their last fixture was away to Oxhey Jets on Tuesday 30th August, where they lost 4-0. Their top goal scorer is BJ Christie with five in five, followed by Craig Butler with four in five.

This is the first time Grays have entered the FA Cup at the Preliminary Round since 1999/2000, where the Blues faced Basildon United and ran out 7-1 winners at The Rec in front of 193 spectators. It was also at this stage where Grays defeated Langford 10-0 in the 1997/98 season.

New signing, goalkeeper Andy Hall was registered in time to be eligible for selection.

AFC Dunstable currently ground share with Dunstable Town at Creasey Park Community Football Centre. The only parking currently available at the ground is for players and officials, so supporters can use an overflow car park at the fire station opposite the ground.

Also, due to the license not yet being approved, alcohol will not be able to be purchased at the ground. The Mulberry Bush is just around the corner from the ground and has been recommended.

Should a replay be required, the match will take place at Rookery Hill on Wednesday 7th September, kick off 19:45.

Kick-off on Sunday is 15:00 at:
Creasey Park
North Station Way
off Brewers Hill Rd
Dunstable
LU6 1AA.
